Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine is an important part of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and dates back 4,000 years. Herbs help the body to heal at a much faster rate than acupuncture alone, and helps reduce the need for more frequent acupuncture sessions.
Herbs can correct underlying imbalances that cause disease, help to resolve pain, and promote the body’s ability to self-heal. For pets who cannot tolerate acupuncture, herbs are often very efficacious by themselves. Chinese herbs can also be used to complement traditional medical treatments.
They can be used to treat chronic conditions, infections, and acute injuries. In addition, they can improve the quality of life for geriatric pets, especially those diagnosed with terminal cancer, since herbs can reduce tumor size when chemotherapy is no longer effective option.
